Residents, businesses, Councillors and guests gathered to celebrate the opening of the town’s newest industrial park, Aurora Stockport, as it was announced another two units have been snapped up.
Held in one of the new units at Aurora, guests came together at the official opening to see the transformation that has taken place for themselves and celebrate the opportunities the industrial park has brought to our town.
The Council’s multi-million investment has turned a once derelict 18 acre site into a 145,000 sq ft industrial park that is home to 10 modern units, a riverside park and improved walking routes into the town centre.
The benefits created by Aurora Stockport go beyond the physical transformation. A number of local residents secured construction apprenticeships and work placements on the development gaining invaluable work skills for the future; Seddon have worked with a number of community groups providing them with new facilities and jobs are being created that residents can benefit from as companies move into Aurora.
The industrial park has proven an instant success.
Eight of the park’s 10 units are now let or under offer as companies choose to move their businesses to Stockport or grow for the future at Aurora. Just weeks after completing a 15 year lease on two units, Aeroco Group, are now under offer on an extra two units at the industrial estate.
New contracts secured by this leading aircraft component maintenance specialist has seen their demand for space grow and Aurora was the natural place for them to invest further. This news means that Aurora is now 83% let or under offer.
