Countryside Properties has started work on 166 houses in Brinnington, Stockport, the second phase of a 281-home masterplan for the area.

Countryside first broke ground in 2016 on Blackberry Vale, which features 98 three-bed houses, and has now sold out this part of the development.

At neighbouring Blackberry Point, the housebuilder will deliver a further 160 homes bordering the M60 and near Brinnington railway station. These freehold properties start at £164,995 for a three-bed home, and 14 have been reserved to date.

Overall, Countryside is aiming to deliver 281 homes across the area between 2016 and 2021.

The site for the development was identified in a 2010 Bilfinger GVA report commissioned by Stockport Council and the Homes & Communities Agency – now Homes England – into addressing Brinnington’s issues of physical isolation from the wider Stockport area.

The Brinnington Regeneration Plan, part of the Council’s Investing in Stockport Programme, is also set to include the development of a £5m sports and leisure facility in Brinnington Park, replacing the existing Lapwing Centre.
