A consultation on plans for a two-acre public green space, part of the £120m revamp of the town’s ageing bus station, is now open.
Stockport Council is seeking input from the public to help shape the vision for the park. Residents are being asked what features they would like to see included and how they plan to use the park.
The park is to sit on top of the reimagined bus station and will be created around a circular opening to allow natural light through to the interchange below.
A pavilion in the south-east corner of the site is to include stair and lift access from the park to the bus station below. A link bridge for pedestrians and cyclists will connect the interchange with Station Road.
